Safeguarding Training for Health Practitioners
Course: Safeguarding & Promoting the Welfare of the Child
Course Aims:
To develop an understanding of our professional responsibilities in relation to ‘promoting the welfare’ and ‘safeguarding’ children in the context of the current government agenda.
Objectives:
- Practitioners will be able to differentiate between vulnerable children, children-in-need, and children at risk of significant harm and decide upon the most appropriate course of action.
- Practitioners will be able to apply the current government agenda to their every day work with children and families.
Target Group:
Practitioners working in Health care settings who have contact with Parents, Young People and/or Children.
Course Information:
Length of Course:1 x day
Time: 9.00 am (for 9.15 am start) – 4.00 pm

1. A restricted number of places are available to each Trust/Hospital.
2. Application forms are available from your Trust/Hospital training coordinator
3. Participants will be sent a written confirmation of their place on the course
approximately 4 - 6 weeks prior to course date.
