Whether you're a Head, a teacher, a support worker or governor in a school, or a parent or pupil - this section will help you find out more about safeguarding and what you can do to play your part.

All documents in this section are reviewed and updated on a regular basis by the Safeguarding Service. The latest update is Version 4, September 2009.

These documents have been re-designed during summer 09 and can now be downloaded in colour or black and white. If you require these documents in any other format, please contact us.

The documents have now been put into 2 sections:

Education safeguarding children policies & procedures

Ofsted have confirmed that:

  • Any Sheffield school or education setting can adopt the safeguarding policies and procedures on this website
  • The setting must have a hard copy available for parents and others to see if requested
  • The policies do not need to have a setting name and logo on
  • An Ofsted inspection will check whether the setting has put these policies and procedures in place

Education safeguarding children toolkit

This toolkit includes templates to enable practitioners to record and complete reports, audits, checklists and assessments quickly and easily.
