Child Protection Conferences
Information for Professionals
These pages contain information for professionals about the Child Protection Conference processes.
A child protection conference is convened when a child has suffered or is likely to suffer significant harm and assessment indicates that a child protection plan is necessary. Professionals attending the conference are expected to contribute information about their involvement with the children and parents or carers and contribute to the decision making stage about risk and if a child protection plan is needed.
Every invited professional has a responsibility to attend and give all relevant information to the child protection conference by submitting a written report, with sufficient copies, to the Convening Team in the Sheffield Safeguarding Children Service at least two days prior to the conference. A report pro-forma can be found at the bottom of this page.
For further information about Child Protection Conferences please see the 'Information on Child Protection Conferences' leaflet available to download at the bottom of this page.
