Child Death Processes
As from April 2008, Sheffield Safeguarding Children Board has to have specific procedures in place when a child, who is under the age of 18, dies. The key requirements are that we:
- have a rapid response by a group of key professionals who come together for the purpose of enquiring into and evaluating the unexpected death of a child
- have a overview panel of key professionals who come together to review the deaths of all children resident in Sheffield.

- initial notification of child death form, to be completed for each child who dies

(Please note these procedures replace the SUDI (Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy) Protocol which operated prior to April 2008).
