Child Protection and Licensing Task Group

 
The Child Protection and Licensing Task Group (CPLTG) is a partnership group that meets quarterly to discuss issues relating to children at licensed premises and identify ways to support licensees to provide a safe environment for children. 
 
The Group is chaired by the Sheffield Safeguarding Children Board (SSCB) Licensing Manager and is attended by representatives from South Yorkshire Police, Licencewatch, Rotherham Chamber of Commerce and licensees from Pubs, Sports & Social Clubs and Theatres.
 
Terms of Reference/Objectives of the task group
 
  • The core business of the group will be the issues relating to children’s safety while on licensed premises.
 
  • The group will produce information that is useful to licensees to assist them with the promotion and understanding of safeguarding issues.
 
  • To produce materials to raise public awareness of premises’ legal requirement to protect children from harm.
 
  • To promote the development of co-ordinated good practice in Sheffield and Rotherham.
 
Membership and functioning of the group
 
  • The group is represented by licensees/DPS’s of premises and welcomes diversity. 
 
  • Additional individuals will be invited to attend, or consulted about specific issues.
 
  • The SSCB Licensing Manager will chair the meetings.
 
  • Meetings will be minuted and a copy of the minutes will be provided to each member of the group.
 
  • The SSCB Licensing Manager will report back to the Licencewatch Committee.
