Integrated Practice Manual
The Integrated Practice Manual provides policy and guidance to everyone working with children and young people in Sheffield.
It deals primarily with situations which occur within universal services but also directs practitioners who are dealing with situations which require urgent or specialist intervention.
The manual will support you in:
- Helping children and young people to participate in decisions about their lives
- Working with parents and carers
- Safeguarding children
- Developing inclusive practice
- Working with different practitioners and agencies
- Maximising early intervention and effective prevention
- Assessing and meeting a child's additional needs
- Sharing information appropriately
Integrated practice has developed a number of tools to assist practitioners interventions:
- Sheffield's child index - called SafetyNET
- The Common Assessment Framework
- The lead Professional Role
- The Sheffield online service directory - called AskSid
