Safeguarding Children
It's everyone's business!
We all have a statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people. Sheffield Safeguarding Children Board (SSCB) has developed this website to provide easily accessible and up-to-date safeguarding information for professionals, and for children, young people, families and members of the public.
What to do if you think a child may be at risk of abuse / neglect:
- information for the public
- information for professionals
The information on this website includes:
- serious case review executive summaries
- policies, procedures and protocols
- information sharing guidance
- advice from the Sheffield Safeguarding Children Advisory Service and other services we provide
- information about our services, reports and implementation groups
- information for professionals about child protection conferences
- information for families and children and young people about the child protection process
- and links to other useful sites.
Most of the information on this site is generic and aimed at any worker who requires safeguarding children guidance. But there are also pages specific to staff in schools and early years settings, and an area for children, families and the public is now being added.
In the meantime we welcome any feedback you may have about this website, which you can provide via Quick Links.
