E-safety: Useful Contacts

There are a number of organisations who offer a range of services in relation to the e-safety agenda. Some of these are listed here. If you would like us to add any other agencies, please contact us.

 National Organisations:

  • Thinkuknow: information for children, young people, parents / carers, teachers / trainers

  • Digizen: digital citizenship - building safe spaces and communities, understanding how to manage personal information and being Internet savvy, particularly in relation to cyberbullying and social networking

  • Becta: the Government agency leading the national drive to ensure the effective and innovative use of technology throughout learning. Safeguarding children online contains guidance for schools about being e-safe. This may also be helpful for other organisations working with children and young people using digital technology

  • Department of Children, Schools and Families  includes information for primary and secondary school teachers regarding e-safety awareness for their pupils, including such publications as the Byron Review and Safeguarding Children in a Digital World

  • Childline website and telephone helpline (0800 1111) for children who are concerned about themselves or a friend
